₹7.66 trillion to ₹46.63 trillion in 10 Years

Mutual Funds are Growing and Will Continue to Grow into the future

Highlights of Growth of Mutual Fund Assets –

  • AUM Growth – The MF Industry’s AUM has grown from ₹ 25.20 trillion as on August 31, 2018 to ₹46.63 trillion as on August 31, 2023, around 2 fold increase in a span of 5 years. The AUM of the Indian MF Industry has grown from ₹7.66 trillion as on August 31, 2013 to ₹46.63 trillion as on August 31, 2023 more than 6 fold increase in a span of 10 years
  • Folio Growth – The total number of accounts (or folios as per mutual fund parlance) as on August 31, 2023 stood at 15.42 crore (154.2 million), while the number of folios under Equity, Hybrid and Solution Oriented Schemes, wherein the maximum investment is from retail segment stood at about 12.30 crore (123 million)
  • SIP Growth – SIP accounts stood at 6.97 CRORE! And thetotal amount collected through SIP during August 2023 was ₹ 15,814 crore
  • Inflow Growth – Equity mutual funds have witnessed a net inflow of Rs 20,161 crore in August 2023, according to Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) data. This marked a significant increase compared to the previous month, with July 2023 seeing an inflow of Rs 7,505 crore. This surge in equity mutual fund investments to a five-month high indicates renewed investor confidence in the stock market
